JOB TITLE: System Safety Engineer - Integrated Modular Avionics
ABOUT THE JOB:
This position is responsible for Integrated Systems Safety Assessment of Next Generation Avionics (NGA) insuring safety decisions and requirements are created to satisfy the system fault hazard assessment and correctly allocated to integrated modular avionics subsystems. Key responsibilities include systems safety requirements development, trace, validation, and verification, systems integration, system design, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEAs, Common Mode Analysis, and Fault Hazard Assessment.

JOB TITLE: System Safety Engineer - Integrated Modular Avionics

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering Discipline
- 6+ years experience with avionics systems
- Experience using guidance provided in SAE/ARP 4761 and SAE/ARP 4754A
- Knowledge of the FHA-FDAL-IDAL Analysis process per ARP4754A
- Knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle
- Ability to review System Level Design and Requirements to Satisfy Architectural Safety Decisions in support of top-level analysis
- Experience performing Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, Common Mode Analysis, and Fault Hazard Assessment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts
- Self-motivated and takes initiative to get things done
- Ability to make autonomous decisions
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional design teams
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Integrated Modular Avionics experience
- Familiarity with DO-178C
- Familiarity with aircraft Interface Control Documents
- Experience with CAFTA (computer aided fault tree analysis) tools
- Experience with DOORS NG
- Experience with JIRA
- Experience with Configuration Management and Change Management processes
