JOB TITLE: Software Engineer – Detect and Avoid Systems
ABOUT THE JOB:
In this role you will be responsible for developing and testing software associated with collision avoidance systems in aviation. Specific work includes developing an Ethernet interface for a TCAS system which interfaces to an external radar source and making updates to ADS-B In functionality to be in compliance with DO-365 minimum operational performance standards (MOPS) for detect and avoid (DAA) systems.
The successful candidate will be experienced in DO-178B/C, safety critical, embedded system software development, test case definition and test procedure development.
Development activities include defining software requirements, creating detailed design documentation, developing trace data, and developing the C language source code. Additionally, the developer will integrate the software on the system and provide support for software verification testing.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- 5+ years Aerospace industry experience
- Knowledge of DO-178 full lifecycle development process and its application in the development of complex systems software
- Experience with requirements capture and management, and associated tools
- Experience translating software requirements to C/C++ language code
- Experience in development of detailed design documents
- Experience translating software requirements to software verification test cases
- Experience developing software verification test procedures
- Significant experience with ARINC 615A Data Loading
- Significant experience with Ethernet protocol (TCP/IP, UDP)
- Familiar with Software Change Request (SCR) processes and tools
- Familiar with software configuration management processes and tools
- Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and decision-making skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with ADS-B In
- DO-365 MOPS DAA experience
- Experience with the following tools: DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest, VectorCast, Green Hills RTOS
- Python scripting experience
