JOB TITLE: Software/Hardware Quality Assurance


ABOUT THE JOB:
This position participates in monitoring every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure that the aircraft delivered software adheres to the standards set by the development company and satisfies regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure compliance and quality of software development for airborne systems by verifying the development process adheres to DO-178C guidance and military standards.
  • Software development lifecycle oversight by actively monitoring and reviewing all phases of software development process, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and verification to ensure compliance with guidance and standards.
  • Handle software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule.
  • Interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
  • Review and approve systems, software and test equipment requirements, design, and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
  • Participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to ensure processes and products are compliant to contractual and company process requirements and standards.
  • Participate in the software change control process boards.
  • Work with SMEs and all stakeholders with minimal direction from the manager or senior level peer to support technical issues as they relate to software quality.
  • Continue to develop your knowledge base through research, training, and hands-on experience.
     
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree is required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or other related degrees.
  • 2+ years directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (such as RTCA DO-178C, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, AC 20-115D, MIL-STD-498, DI-MISC-80508B, etc.)
  • Proficiency in software quality assurance techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with software development methodologies, including requirements management, design, coding, and testing.
  • Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge.
  • Experience in software requirements development, Software design, source code (C/C++, Python programming languages), and verification
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques along with the software development methods and software testing methods.
  • Familiarity with software testing tools and techniques, including static analysis, code coverage analysis, and test case management.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to clearly articulate technical issues and findings.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with engineers across different disciplines.
  • Ability to conduct reviews and formal and informal audits to suppliers during software and hardware development.
  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, contracts that will enable development and review of systems & software processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to support program activities and audit software suppliers up to 10% as the business requires.
