JOB TITLE: Principal Electrical Engineer – Spacecraft Controls Systems
ABOUT THE JOB:
Seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing new products and making improvements to existing space application products, including Reaction Wheel Assemblies (RWAs) and Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs). This role involves evaluating products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability, ensuring project completion, and working with other members of the engineering staff to ensure timely design and production.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, modify, and test analog, digital, and power electronic circuits, and author related technical documentation.
- Support ongoing production and new business activities related to Momentum Controls Systems product lines.
- Provide written reports and oral presentations to program or engineering management and customers to explain technical approaches and project status.
- Accept work assignments and perform tasks with minimal oversight.
- Work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels.
- Demonstrate experience working as a member of a team and adapt well to a changing environment.
- Lead and direct the work of other engineers, technicians, and designers.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in space/momentum control products.
- Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Expertise in Analog and/or Digital Circuit Design and Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA).
- Experience with FPGA and microcontroller design.
- Strong electrical design and analysis capability.
- Basic understanding of spacecraft hardware including momentum devices.
- Comfortable working on hardware in a lab environment.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with modeling tools such as P-SPICE and MATLAB.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be a US citizen; dual citizenship may be considered.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with power supplies, motor drives, feedback control loops, and embedded digital controls.
