REAL TIME CONSULTING (An RTCo Company)—POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Sr Advanced Systems Engineer – APU Control
ABOUT THE JOB: In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and be responsible for all aspects of APU control systems engineering, with a focus on electronic control units and other airborne electronic hardware. This includes design aspects, obsolescence, revising drawings at all levels and sub-assemblies, and compliance with DO-254, among other considerations. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding a team of engineers who will collaborate to support the site. Responsibilities also include managing engineering support cases and distributing the team's workload.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design & Integration
Responsible for approved source list drawings, or build to print drawings – ensure supplier drawing and/or part are compliant with internal drawing and governing requirements
Responsible for reconciling LRU requirements with system level or customer requirements
Responsible for integration of LRU design into larger system and application – must know function of part as well as its contribution to larger engine functions
Communication / LRU Management
Responsible for all communication with suppliers, customers, and project engineering with respect to LRU development, including reading form management, document releases, test scheduling & conformity, and activity status
Responsible for participating in planning & scheduling, integrating supplier schedule into program schedule, and establishing LRU program milestones
Responsible for coordination memo authorship, tracking/log, and responses to suppliers and customers
Responsible for all elements of source status elevation (supplier qualification) of LRU
Responsible for knowledge of governing plans for LRU qualification on application
Responsible for specific test plans & procedures (QTPs) – approving supplier documentation and integrating into internal QTPs & facilitating updates from customer input and ultimate approval
Responsible for test execution (on-site at supplier if necessary) and data reduction
Responsible for test setup and unit conformity
Responsible for generating similarity arguments, analysis, or test reports in support of qualification
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Aerospace Product Development and Systems Integration experience
Production/Factory Support for Aerospace Safety-Critical Products, including electronic control units, electronic subassemblies, sensors, effectors, and control system components (electrical, electromechanical, fuel, hydraulic, and/or actuation systems)
Experience working with suppliers to develop a Build-to-Spec Product
DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810 hardware qualification experience, including developing test procedures and test reports
PREFERRED SKILLS:
APU and/or Gas Turbine Engine Controls product experience
