Sr Software Engineer - Avionics ATE

JOB TITLE: Sr Software Engineer – Automated Test Equipment


ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience in Automated Test Equipment (ATE). In this role, you will lead the design, development, and integration of software solutions that support automated testing for complex aerospace and defense systems. You will be responsible for transforming customer requirements into robust, certifiable software products, while guiding a team of engineers through all phases of the software development lifecycle—from concept and requirements definition to validation and verification.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development with a solid foundation in C, C++, Python, LabWindows/CVI.
  • 2+ years of experience in leading Software teams.
  • Experience with creating technical documents and developing software requirements from customer inputs along with experience in DO-178B/ DO-178C certification.
  • Experience in ClearCase/ClearQuest, DOORS, BITBUCKET
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly so that it may be understood by both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to apply technical concepts to specific tasks and to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to move into new teams and quickly learn project defined specific process while applying past knowledge and experience; adapt well to a changing environment, anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional disciplines (hardware, software, systems) in a team environment, possess good people skills and have the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels.
  • Skilled at developing/integrating new ideas, optimizing alternatives & establishing backup plan.
  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude; highly motivated individual with the ability to self-start, prioritize, and multi-task.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) as well as multi-threaded environments and embedded systems desired.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and working knowledge of general-purpose test equipment is desirable.
